How does what we hear inspire us to make music?

Being able to listen is a vital skill, and listening to music from a range of traditions and times is an essential part of the creative process.

That’s why we’ve created this brand new mini-collection, pulling together 10 minutes as starting points for a set of three brand new lesson plans. Designed by Yorkshire-based composer and educator Tom Lawrence, “From Listening to Composing” will take your class right through the musical process, from listening critically to creating their own music.

Spark your pupils’ imagination; explore the collection and resources here.
