World influenced music is music inspired by styles of music from all across the world. This often includes non-Western musical traditions, such as music from Africa and Asia, and traditional folk music in western countries.
There is huge diversity in musical styles and instruments across the globe; for example, in India, musicians learn to play patterns of notes called ragas, which are associated with different moods, times of the day and occasions. Indian instruments include the sitar (a long-necked string instrument), the tabla (a pair of drums) and the bansuri (a type of flute).
