Wind is caused by the movement of air across an area. It can range from a light summer breeze to a hurricane force storm. Wind speed is often measured using the Beaufort scale which describes the strength of the wind (in the UK the Beaufort scale goes from 0 – 12). In these Minutes you can hear the wind as it meets other objects.
What sound does the wind make on its own? Describe the objects the wind is meeting in these Minutes – how can you tell what these objects are? Why would an object sound closer if the wind is coming towards you from it?
