The theremin is an electronic instrument played without any physical contact! The player moves their hands through the air between two antennas. One antenna controls the pitch and the other controls dynamics! The closer your right hand is to the pitch antenna, the higher the pitch. The instrument was invented in Russia in 1920 and was named after its inventor Léon Theremin. The theremin has been used in orchestral music, film music and even computer game music. It’s electronic sound is often described as spooky!
