Rain has shaped the planet over millions of years, without it there would be no rivers or valleys, and probably little or no life. Rain falls when water in a cloud forms a large enough droplet that it can no longer be held in the cloud and so falls to earth. The sound of rainfall is actually the noise that it makes as it hits a surface. In these Minutes you will hear rain falling onto many different surfaces.
How can you tell what surface the rain is falling onto? What can you listen for to work out the amount of rain? Does rain make any noise as it falls & could you design an experiment to find out?
