Chamber music is a type of music from the Western classical tradition for small groups of musicians. Originally it was written to be performed in a large room or “chamber” in a home in the days when there were no computers or TVs for entertainment! Common types of chamber music include the string quartet, wind quintet and all sorts of small groups that often include the piano or harpsichord. Usually, there would be one player playing each part and they would play without a conductor.
