Nitin Sawhney is a British Indian musician, producer and composer. As a child, Nitin studied piano, flamenco guitar, sitar and tabla. His work combines musical traditions from all over the world and is one of the most distinctive and experiment voices in music today. He has collaborated and written with artists including Paul McCartney, Norah Jones, London Symphony Orchestra, A.R Rahman, Anoushka Shankar, Deepa Mehta and Mira Nair.   

Nitin is also a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and BAFTA. He’s advised the UK government on national music education policy, and is an associate artist with Sadlers Wells, served on boards such as Somerset House and Whitechapel Gallery and is currently a trustee of Complicite.   

Nitin has over 20 studio albums to his name, including film soundtracks, solo albums. In 2018, he completed the entire composition of the Warner Bros/Netflix film ‘Mowgli’. He has received 8 honorary doctorates and fellowships from British universities and institutions.
