Italian composer and pianist Giancarlo Simonacci specializes in modern and contemporary repertoire, particularly the music of John Cage.
Giancarlo Simonacci was born in Rome, where he studied music at the Conservatorio Santa Cecilia. He regularly performs on the piano as a soloist and as a duo with Gabriella Morelli. For the past 40 years he has taught piano at the Sassari, Frosinone and Rome conservatories, and presented at seminars across Europe.
His compositions have been widely published and his recordings of John Cage’s works were well received in the press both in locally and internationally.
Silence Records produced a CD, interpreted by Francesco Negro, dedicated to his piano works.
